Immediate Action Improvements
During the first weeks of Phase II, The Lab works with clients to implement up to one-third of the total number of improvements identified during Phase I. These "quick hits" start to generate documented benefits within six weeks.

Future State Business Processes
Phase I improvements and "clean sheet" design sessions create the detailed documentation for more effective business processes. These are piloted, refined and scaled to the organization.

Capacity Model
The Lab develops a work capacity model for each project. It pinpoints the location and cost of operational waste based on analysis of detailed work activities and throughput. It provides a valuable tool for forecasting resource requirements based on work load demand.

Organizational Redesign
Using the capacity model output, the work content of business processes and related organizations is reconfigured at the task level to:

  • Eliminate waste
  • Standardize and stratify tasks
  • Reduce capacity fragmentation
  • Increase scalability of operations

Management Operating Reports
To fully realize the benefits of process and organizational changes, The Lab develops a concise set of Management Operating Reports (MORs) that serve as operational
"report cards." The MORs establish baseline performance levels prior to the start of improvement efforts, document performance gains and help manage operations.
